Rules and Conditions of Training
•Correct Dojo etiquette must be observed at all times i.e Bowing upon entering the Dojo (Training Hall) and leaving. Correct respect shown to Sensei (Teacher) and to fellow members.
•Members should ensure that their Gi is always clean and ironed regularly.
•Toe and finger nails must be cut regularly so to prevent injury to others and yourself.
•Members who must wear their hair long must have it tied back.
•Any jewellery, watches and other personnel adornments must be removed before entering the each training session. Wedding rings and piercing`s that must stay must be covered. Tongue piercing`s will not be permitted in any circumstances.
•Members train at there own risk. Neither club nor its Officials can accept liability for any injury caused whilst training. Nor for any either damaged / stolen or lost of property.
•Any person found publicly slandering Traditional Shotokan Karate Ryu and its members will have there membership terminated, without refund of any fees paid to date.
•Any member found to be using there karate skills to cause unnecessary harm to any person regardless of race gender or religion will have there membership terminated without refund of fees paid to date.
•Any person found bullying of any kind will have there membership terminated. Without refund of fees paid to date.
•Any person found to be constantly showing lack of control at any time will have there membership terminated, without refund of any fees paid to date.
•All Instructors have the right to refuse any person membership they feel unsuitable and will bring dishonour to the club.
•Instructors do have the right to refuse entry to any member whom is late for class; this can cause disruption to the class and may cause harm to the member, as a proper warm up will have been missed.
•Members will be not be given permission to leave the lesson once it has started. Unless there is a cause for concern with a member. Any personal issues should be discussed, with Instructor at the beginning of lesson.
•Mobile phones are not permitted in the hall and must be switched to silent or off. If for any reason that a member needs to be “On-Call” please inform the instructor at the start of the lesson.
•Visitors, spectators at any class are to remain as quiet as possible. No Mobile phones allowed. No unsupervised children will be allowed. Spectators are to refrain from distracting participants either by eating, talking or purposefully trying to distract the attention of the students. This could result in accidents and lack of attention to those participants. Spectators may be asked to leave the room.
•Non Participating Children will have to be supervised at all times.
SAMURAI SAM CLUBS Training Fees & Policies
•TSKR will aim to provide 4 Samurai Sam lessons per month for the Monthly fee. Times/Venues/Instructors may vary.
•Samurai Sam Monthly Payment will be due on the first lesson each month at a cost respective of the venue; this alters due to Subsidies from Schools. There will be no refund for missed lessons. Members that missed the first lesson of the month will still be required to pay the full Amount
•Samurai Sam Club Students joining part way through the month will be charged fees of £3.50 per lesson. Late Payments £14 All Clubs
•Samurai Sam Merit Badge Scheme will have to be paid in full at the start of entry into this scheme. (4yrs-7yrs only) Students that pay for Merit Badge Scheme will not be entitled to a refund if leaving the club. This Fee is set at £15 all in Includes Badges, Belt & Certificate.
•Students that continually show disregard to other students and teachers will be asked to sit the rest of the lesson out and will not be allowed to attend for the next week. Dependant on the severity of the incident the student could be dismissed from the club without refunds.
TSKR are not responsible for your child outside the time of lessons.
Parents/gaurdians should be prompt on arrival & collection
MEMBERSHIP & LICENCING
•Students must apply for membership & Licence within 4 weeks of starting with TSKR
•Any lapse in attendance lasting more than 3 months, will forfeit your membership rights. This means your placement could be offered to other students when the club is at full capacity. Membership will have to be re-applied for at £6.
PAYMENTS
•Monthly payments will be due on the first lesson each month.
•Late renewal of membership will cost £6 not the normal fee of £5. Please check the dates on your Members card.
•Late renewal of licences will cost £13 instead of the normal fee of £12. Please check the dates on your licence.
•Non Member Training Fees Jnrs £4 Snrs 16yrs+ £5 per lesson. 2 hour lessons Jnrs £5.50, Snrs 16yrs+ £7.50.
•Members who Pay monthly at the Dereham now means unlimited training at other venues such as Swaffham & Watton when it opens.
•Members who Pay monthly at Samurai Sam Clubs does not mean unlimited training at other venues.
Child Protection Policy
•All Volunteers & Instructors will have a current Full Enhanced CRB Check in place.
•TSKR follows Child Protection Policy laid down by the National Governing Body held on Separate File.
•No Instructor will be allowed to teach a class of two or less minors, without another Adult or Parent in the venue. Lessons may be cancelled at the last moment due to poor attendance.
•Photographs are not allowed in the training Hall or Changing Rooms. Photography is by a nominated professional only. A Photography Exclusion Form is available and made available to anyone wishing to be excluded from this.
•Full NAKMAS Policy available from Chief Instructor.
GRADINGS
•Students who pay for grading will not be entitled to a refund if they are unsuccessful.
•Any member who does not attend at least 75% of classes and courses will not be eligible to grade.
•Students wishing to grade with TSKR must hold a Membership Card & hold a valid Licence or at least applied for one.
•Students joining the club from other Associations/Clubs are to wear a white belt unless permission to do so is given by Chief Instructor. Black Belts that have not got proof of there Grade are given 12months to retake there grading with TSKR. Proof of grade does not automatically mean that your grade will be accepted.
•Students that Grade with TSKR must wear a plain white Gi with no other badges or advertising on it other than the TSKR Logo
