East of England Karate Success.
Karate students representing Traditional Shotokan Karate Ryu (TSKR) Clubs from Dereham Watton Swaffham & Fakenham took part in the East of England Karate Championships on Sunday 13th Sept in Ipswich.
Over 400 competitors from all over East Anglia attended and TSKR students managed to bring home some Silverware.
Double Winner David Penny (FakenhamTSKR) gained to places Gold in sparring & Bronze in Forms. an outstanding achievement for a first timer.
Dan Zelos (Dereham TSKR) gained Silver in Sparring again a first timer.
Jeremy Grix (Watton TSKR) gained Bronze in Sparring again a first timer.
Mario Moutinho (Dereham TSKR) 2nd place Silver after a very long fight which tested his skills and fitness.
The team of 8 train regular with TSKR and attend squad training Coached by TSKR assistant Instructor Darren Webster.
Darren says he was very pleased with the results and the efforts that the team had put in.
Darren would like to mention the unsung heroes Stephen Penny Cameron Reid and Jacob Heath & Iain Paterson who competed, but due to some tough competition they did not return with medals. They came very close and hope that next time, will be their time.

I have to thank the efforts that Children Adults and Parents have put in. Everyone in TSKR is proud to have these members competing for them. Darren Webster has taken to coaching these students in a professional manner and this has shown in the results that the team acheived. I am sure TSKR Squad success will continue to grow.
