Traditional Shotokan Karate Ryu (TSKR) Grading Saturday 24th October

gathered at Dereham Leisure Centre.

Well done to everyone that participated in the recent grading, held under

Cheif Instructor Terry Wittkopp 4th Dan

Bill Wittkopp 3rd Dan & Darren Webster 2nd Dan

 Students really did very well at this event, TSKR had 5 Clubs enter students for grades, from white belt up to 1st Kyu.

Exceptional efforts were seen by the White Belt Beginners whom had only had a few weeks training in preparation.

Some White Belts went on to grade through to Red Belt, in the main due to help from Private Tuition and dedication into training two to three times per week.

Two Students who had previously graded in June but failed , retook their test and looked and top form, pulling off very good performances.

A suprised student Hannah Coole double graded to 3rd Kyu. A very rare event indeed. Hannah had scored full marks in her Grade to 4th Kyu and the Panel were so impressed by her kata that they asked her to perform her next. She did this with spirit and conviction of a 3rd Kyu and was awarded the grade on that basis.

Two young lads from Dereham TSKR, Alex Dack and Dan Zelos graded to 1st Kyu. This grade took an hour to complete. Both boys had an extremely good grading and performed to a very high standard. Now they will have to train for one whole year before attempting the grade of Black Belt..

Instructors are now looking forward to the December Grading when it expected that there wil be entries from over 8 clubs

in TSKR.

Went to members that had shown good committment and technique leading up to the grading.

The awards also recognised they had shown characteristics of a good Martial Artist, with

high discipline, etiquette and courtesy.
